Nibelungen Gallery was founded by English-Swedish gallerist Karin von Heden, whose curatorial eye and intellectual depth shape the soul of the gallery. With a PhD in art history and over two decades of international experience in both institutional and independent spaces, von Heden brings a distinctive, layered perspective to contemporary curation.

 

Her academic work has explored the thresholds between myth, modernism, and materiality—threads that continue to inform the gallery's program. Karin has held influential roles across European and North American art scenes, working closely with artists, archives, and private collections. Known for her subtle, rigorous approach, she favors the unexpected and the quietly radical.

Based in Antwerp, Nibelungen Gallery serves as an evolving dialogue between the historic and the emerging, the poetic and the conceptual. Under von Heden’s direction, the gallery is committed to showcasing thought-provoking work by established and underrepresented artists alike.
